BADRINATH TEMPLE

Badrinath Temple town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, India. Badrinath temple is dedicated to the Lord Vishnu. The Badrinath temple form one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites. It’s open for six months every single year (between the end of April and the beginning of November), because of thrilling weather circumstances in the Himalayan province.

ARCHITECTURAL STYLE

The main Badrinath temple the 1 m (3.3 ft) Shaligram (black stone) image of Badrinarayan, which is housed in a gold canopy under a Badri Tree. The image of Badrinarayan holds a Shankha (conch) and a Chakra (wheel) in two of its arms in a lifted posture and two arms are rested on its lap in a Yogamudra (Padmasana) posture.

The sanctum also houses pictures of the god of wealth—Kubera, sage Narada, Uddhava, Nar and Narayan. There are fifteen more images that are also worshipped around the temple. These include that of Lakshmi Garuda and Navadurga, the manifestation of Durga in nine various forms. The temple also has mandir of Lakshmi Narasimhar and for saints Adi Shankara, Vedanta Desika and Ramanujacharya. All the idols of the mandir are made of black stone.

The Badrinath temple doors opens at 04.30 am & closes at 1. Pm. Once again it doors opens at 4.pm & closes at 9.pm after the divine song Geet Govind.

OPENING RITUAL

The Badrinath main temple opens every single year in the month of April-May & closes for winters in the third week of November. The temple is closure for 6 months every single year throughoutthat prayers to the Badri Vishal harbor at the Narsimha mandir in Joshimath.The dates for inaugural date of Shri Badrinath main mandir will be announce by the priests on Basant Panchmi.

 

HOW TO REACH

By Air

The nearest airport from Badrinath is the Jolly Grant Airport near Dehradun, about 317 km from Badrinath.

By Helicopter

The distance by a helicopter journey is hardly 100 km. There are many providers of helicopter service from Dehradun to Badrinath.

By Train

The nearest railway stations to Badrinath are at Rishikesh (297 kms), Haridwar (324 kms) and Kotadwar (327 kms). Rishikesh is not connected by fast trains and Kotadwar has very less number of trains. Thus Haridwar serves as the best railway station if you are visiting Badrinath by train. Haridwar is connected by many trains from all part of India.

 

By Bus

Badrinath is easily accessible by road. It is located at a distance of 525 Km from Delhi & 296 Km from Rishikesh. There are regular buses operating to Badrinath from Delhi, Haridwar and Rishikesh. Regular buses operate from Rishikesh bus station to Badrinath and start very early before dawn. The last bus from Rishikesh leaves for Badrinath before dawn. The road is narrow after Joshimath and travel is not permitted on the road after sunset.

Gangotri is a Hindu pilgrim town on the banks of the river Bhagirathi and origin of River Ganges.The temple of Gangotri located at an altitude of 3042 m overhead sea level amidst captivating surroundings. Conferring to famous Hindu legend, it was here that Maa Ganga embodied when Lord Shiva free the huge river from the locks of his hair.

YAMUNOTRI TEMPLE

Yamunotri Temple commonly known as Yamunotri, is a Hindu temple.The Temple of Yamunotri at the source of river Yamuna is the western - most temples in the Garhwal Himalayas. It’s located at an height of 3,293 metres (10,804 ft) in the Garhwal Himalayas and positioned approximately 30 kilometers (19mi) North of Uttarkashi in the Garhwal Division of Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the four sites in India's Chhota Char Dham pilgrimage.

बैद्यनाथ धाम ज्योतिर्लिंग :

बैद्यनाथ ज्योतिर्लिंग मंदिर को ही बाबा बैद्यनाथ धाम भी कहा जाता है।इस जगह को शिव के सबसे पवित्र निवास स्थान और 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में से एक माना जाता है। यह भारत के झारखंड राज्य के देवघर में स्थित है। इस मंदिर परिसर है बाबा बैद्यनाथ का ज्योतिर्लिंग स्थापित है।मंदिर परिसर में बैद्यनाथ धाम ज्योतिर्लिंग के अलावा 21 अन्य मंदिर भी हैं।

पूजा का महत्त्व:

भगवान शिव के पूजा में बेलपत्र चढ़ाना सर्वश्रेठ और शुभ माना गया है। तीन पत्तियों का संगम, शिव की तीन आंखों के अलावा उनके त्रिशूल का भी प्रतीक है, जो पिछले तीन जन्मों के पापों को नष्ट करने के वाला माना जाता है। हालाँकि, वृक्ष के बेलपत्र तोड़ने का भी एक समय होता हैं। कहा जाता हैं कि महादेव सौ कमल चढ़ाने से जितने प्रसन्न होते हैं, उतना ही एक नीलकमल चढ़ाने पर होते हैं और एक हजार नीलकमल के बराबर एक बेलपत्र होता है। इसीलिए भगवान शिव को प्रसन्न करने के लिए बेलपत्र चढ़ाना चाहिए।

About the Temple :

Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, also known as Baba Baidyanath dham and Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples.

About the Puja:

Offering Bilva or belpatra in Shiva Puja is important and considered auspicious. A confluence of three leaves, "Bilva" is symbolic of Shiva's three eyes as well as his trident (trishul) which is believed to destroy sins of the past three births. However, there are certain days when one should not pluck the bel leaves from a tree.
