ISKCON TEMPLE, NEW DELHI

Sri SriRadhaParthasarathi Temple commonly known as the ISKCON Delhi temple.  It is situated in the Hare Krishna Hills, East of Kailasharea of New Delhi, India. The temple dedicated to the Lord Krishna andRadharani.  The temple has been an outcome of the popular 'Hare Krishna' movement. It was constructed in 1993 by AchyutKanvinde and inaugurated in the year of 1998 by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of India on the occasion of Sri Ram Navami.

ARCHITECTURAL STYLE

The temple is a significant structure, with 90-foot-high 'shikharas'. The walls of the temple have been decorated with the works of artists from Russia. The paintings portray different scenes from the lives of deities like Lord Krishan and Radha, and Lord Ram and Sita. The lessons from religious epics of the Hindu religion are demonstrated to attract more visitors to the holy place.

TIMEING

The temple can be visited all seven days of the week between 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. However, the main altar remains closed from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

FESTIVITY

The temple celebrates the festivals of Gaura Purnima, Rama Navami, Sri Krishna Janmastami, Radhastami, and Govardhan Puja with great fervour in the presence of devotees from different parts of the country and abroad.

HOW TO REACH

The ISKCON Temple is situated in the East Kailash region on top of the Hare Krishna Hills. The finest way is to travel by Metro. The Nehru Place Station and Kailash Colony Station are the nearest metro stations which are a 5-minute walk away from the temple. If you travelling from the Nizamuddin Railway Station, the ISKCON Sant Nagar is just 5 km from there. Taxi, auto rickshaw and public buses run from every part of the city. And if you travelling by airso, then ISKCON Sant Nagar is 20 km from the New Delhi international airport and can be reached using pre-paid taxis, metro train and DTC Shuttle buses all of which are available right at the arrival terminal.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The amenities are limited, neat and clean. Can do better if they improve the ambience, reception. Need to reserve well in advance. They also serve food on request from Govinda restaurant. People are nice and courteous. If you are looking for decent Accommodation then good place to stay.If you are planning to stay in a near ISKCON temple , then you can situated only a kilometre away from the Temple and can be reached within 5 mins by taxi. Special room arrangements are made for the disciples. Before arriving at the hotel one must contact with the hotel authorities so that arrangements can be made well in advance.

Swaminarayan AkshardhamMandir, commonly known as Akshardham Temple, is a Hindu mandir and a spiritual-cultural campus in New Delhi, India. The mandir has intricately carved pillars and sculptures as well. Its main sanctum houses an idol of Swaminarayam. It also contains idols of other Hindu deities like Krishna, Parvati and Lakshmi. The word Akshardham means the abode of almighty Lord Swaminarayan and believed by followers as a temporal home of God on earth.

बैद्यनाथ धाम ज्योतिर्लिंग :

बैद्यनाथ ज्योतिर्लिंग मंदिर को ही बाबा बैद्यनाथ धाम भी कहा जाता है।इस जगह को शिव के सबसे पवित्र निवास स्थान और 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में से एक माना जाता है। यह भारत के झारखंड राज्य के देवघर में स्थित है। इस मंदिर परिसर है बाबा बैद्यनाथ का ज्योतिर्लिंग स्थापित है।मंदिर परिसर में बैद्यनाथ धाम ज्योतिर्लिंग के अलावा 21 अन्य मंदिर भी हैं।

पूजा का महत्त्व:

भगवान शिव के पूजा में बेलपत्र चढ़ाना सर्वश्रेठ और शुभ माना गया है। तीन पत्तियों का संगम, शिव की तीन आंखों के अलावा उनके त्रिशूल का भी प्रतीक है, जो पिछले तीन जन्मों के पापों को नष्ट करने के वाला माना जाता है। हालाँकि, वृक्ष के बेलपत्र तोड़ने का भी एक समय होता हैं। कहा जाता हैं कि महादेव सौ कमल चढ़ाने से जितने प्रसन्न होते हैं, उतना ही एक नीलकमल चढ़ाने पर होते हैं और एक हजार नीलकमल के बराबर एक बेलपत्र होता है। इसीलिए भगवान शिव को प्रसन्न करने के लिए बेलपत्र चढ़ाना चाहिए।

About the Temple :

Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, also known as Baba Baidyanath dham and Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples.

About the Puja:

Offering Bilva or belpatra in Shiva Puja is important and considered auspicious. A confluence of three leaves, "Bilva" is symbolic of Shiva's three eyes as well as his trident (trishul) which is believed to destroy sins of the past three births. However, there are certain days when one should not pluck the bel leaves from a tree.
